Are there any customs duties or taxes on my order?

For orders within the European Union, there are no customs duties or additional taxes - all prices include VAT. UK orders may be subject to local customs procedures.

European Union Orders

If you're ordering from within the EU:

  • No customs fees - The EU is a single market

  • No import duties - Free movement of goods

  • VAT included - All prices already include applicable VAT

  • No hidden charges - What you see at checkout is what you pay

This applies to all 27 EU member states.

United Kingdom Orders

Since Brexit, UK orders are treated as international shipments:

  • Possible customs fees - May apply depending on order value

  • Import VAT - UK charges 20% VAT on imports over £135

  • Handling fees - Carriers may charge a handling fee (typically £8-12)

Important: Any customs duties, import VAT, or handling fees for UK orders are the responsibility of the customer and are not included in your order total.

Tips for UK Customers

  • Orders under £135 typically have minimal or no duties

  • Consider ordering multiple items together to maximize value

  • Keep your confirmation email in case you need to verify the declared value

Shipping Perfume Regulations

All Scento products are:

  • Legally shipped as perfume samples and decants

  • Properly packaged according to shipping regulations

  • Compliant with EU and UK fragrance shipping requirements

Our decant sizes (0.75ml, 2ml, 8ml) qualify as personal use samples, which helps with customs classification.
